A Season of Hopeful Waiting

December 24, 2011

My friend, Marcie Buckle, shared this reflection on Advent composed of verses she has found comfort in this year.  Marce, thanks for sharing and for your friendship!

Advent, A Season of Hopeful Waiting“:

Trust in the LORD with A ll your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

For I know well the plans I have for you, D eclares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Love does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, belieVes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:6-7

Then the pEace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

My soul, be at rest in God aloNe, from whom comes my hope. God alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not fall. Psalm 62:6-7

Show me your ways, O LORD, Teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. Psalm 25:4-5

I hope this Advent season was one of hope, and I hope that the Christmas Season, which starts tonight deepens joy, hope, and love in your life!
