discerning

Discernment is figuring out God’s will in the present moment. In moments that I question or doubt, I am reminded of the moments of clarity that Chris and I had as we discerned our decision years ago. I can trust that the decision we made was the right decision at the time because we had peace about it.

So, how do I remain hopeful in this time of change? How do we remain hopeful in our times of change? For me, it starts with looking backwards at my day and at times a longer period and being reminded of God’s work in my life. I can see doors opening, prayers being answered

She is the author of the Busy Lives and Restless Souls (March 2017, Loyola Press) and The Inner Chapel (April 2020, Loyola Press). She helps others create space to connect faith and everyday life through facilitating retreats and days of reflection, through writing, and through spiritual direction.
