Feast of St. Ignatius-July 31st

July 30, 2010

Happy St. Ignatius Day (one day early)!  If you have not picked up on it already, St. Ignatius is one of my all time favorite saints.  He is the founder of the Jesuits, and he is the patron saint of the retreats.  One of his greatest gifts to us are the Spiritual Exercises.  I am deeply grateful for the gift of Ignatian Spirituality because it continues to provide tools for me to connect my faith to my everyday life.

Loyola Press has a great link for 31 days of St. Ignatius!  Day 31 is a link for a free e-copy of Margaret Silf’s book Compass Points.  I highly recommend it!

Today, let us pause and remember a great man who continues to impact lives 500 years later!

What saints or other men and women do I admire?
What gift have they been in my life?

Becky is an Ignatian-trained spiritual director, retreat facilitator, and writer. She is the author of the Busy Lives and Restless Souls (March 2017, Loyola Press) and The Inner Chapel (April 2020, Loyola Press). She helps others create space to connect faith and everyday life through facilitating retreats and days of reflection, through writing, and through spiritual direction. With nearly twenty years of ministry experience within the Catholic Church, Becky seeks to help others discover God at work in the every day moments of people’s lives by utilizing St. Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises and the many gifts that our Catholic faith and Ignatian Spirituality provide.
