Hope is…what drives us to action

December 20, 2011

From my brother, Connor, (sharing words of wisdom from my dad):

“We constantly live between fear and hope. As we approach a new situation, we have fear of what lies ahead but, we hope that the situation will produce our desired outcome.

Hope is the basis of what drives us to do things that might be seemingly irrational. It would be simple to avoid facing the fear, from doing the hard work, but hope gives us the strength to accomplish our tasks. Hope is the basis of faith. For, if we have hope that we get past our fears and accomplish what we are meant to do, we have faith that we will be rewarded for doing so.”

What is hope to you?
