It’s the little things

November 25, 2009

Some days it is the smallest, simplest things that have opened the door to the Sacred for me.  Today was one of those days.

-A day at home with Chris, Brady, and Abby
-Turning Brady’s big-boy bed away from the wall, and hearing him get so excited that he can “get in two-sides now”!!!!  Oh the joys of childhood!
-Cleaning out and organizing Brady’s room and closet.
-Snuggling with Abby
-Laughing at how Abby turns her head 90 degrees to make sure she can make eye-contact with you when she sits in your lap.  I love those blue eyes!
-Great conversation with Chris about our values, dreams, and goals
-Several phone calls with my sister-in-law and best friend, Musick.
-Talking to my older brother on the phone (a rare treat!)
-Talking to my grandad on the phone
-Reading by the fireplace with Chris

These small, beautiful moments are so life-giving for me!  They remind me of all the love, joy, and hope I feel in this world!  So, today, I am thankful for these tiny “holy pauses” in my life that remind me of the little ways God loves me!

What are the small, beautiful moments you are thankful for today?
