Mesa Moment #27: Playing in the Rain

September 29, 2011

One of the many reasons I am thankful for my kids– they make me pause and see beautiful moments in my daily life AND they remind me of how the simplest things can bring so much joy.  This Mesa Moment took place a few weeks ago on a rainy afternoon.  My kiddos needed to get a bit of energy out so we headed outside with umbrellas and played in the rain.  As you can guess, the umbrellas were barely used because it is way too much fun to just get wet some days!
After stomping around in puddles and floating leaves down streams on our driveway, the sun came out and brought with it a scene full of radiant light reflecting off our driveway and street.
A moment with the umbrellas!  Note their sopping wet clothes!

What simple moment makes you pause and notice the beauty of our world and brings great joy?

This post reminds me of one I wrote years ago:   Proper Alignment of Priorities
