Proper Alignment of Priorities

January 7, 2010

There is a picture in our kids’ bathroom that depicts a little boy and little girl with huge smiles on their faces playing in the rain and jumping in puddles.  The quote underneath says,

“The Key to Happiness is Proper Alignment of Priorities”
There is snow expected this afternoon in Athens.  For this southern Louisiana girl that piece of news is very exciting!  Rest assured, our priorities this afternoon and evening will be jumping and playing in whatever bit of snow happens to fall on the ground.  My proper alignment of priorities tonight is to forget any tasks, projects or work and simply to watch and absorb the joy and exuberance on Brady’s face as he experiences snow for the second time in his life.  (Already by living in Georgia, Brady is almost equal to the amount of times I have seen snow in my home-town).
What will your “Alignment of Priorities” be today?
Is there something that needs to take precedence over your task lists today?
What is your “greater yes” today?
Side Note:  The print is from a company I love called Kim and Jason. Their artwork depicts a little blonde headed girl and a brown headed little boy in various scenarios with great quotes underneath.  You can also sign up to receive their daily comic strip, which is always quite humorous and thought provoking.
