View from our Kitchen Window

January 5, 2010

There have been many Mesa Moments for me outside my kitchen window since we have lived here.  Many of them have involved wild-life.  I have been utterly amazed at the beautiful creatures that we have seen outside our window.
This Hawk visited us for months! He or she is truly magnificent!
This is a new hawk who has been visiting us lately!
One of my favorite birds- American Goldfinch!  They just make me happy!

Chris for weeks told me he saw a new visitor at our feeders- a woodpecker.  I kept missing him, and it became a running joke that maybe he did not even exist since only Chris saw him.  I think I kept missing him because life seemed to pick up speed around the holiday season, and I was not looking out as much as I was before.  Then one day, I finally caught a glipse of him.  He really was right there on our deck like Chris said!
All of these are God’s creation located just outside our window, but it is so easy to miss the view outside our own window because we just get to busy to notice.
What views, like our kitchen window, do we need to slow down and notice?
What signs of God’s creation are right in front of us?
